Local Tips

A friend sent me a list of funny, but true statements.  I will share them with you on my blog. Here is the first one; “Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.”

If you are coming down to our area and you don’t know what to do or where to go here is a very good tip; get yourself our local paper called The Cape May County Herald.  It has every great place to eat, see, hear, and touch that will improve your holiday experience. herald

Here are some ideas from this week’s paper which always comes out on Wednesdays.

  • Lobster House Take Out Specials…published on Wednesday for the Friday and Saturday Special.  This week is Broiled or Fried Crab for $11.95
  • Great Market in Rio Grande is called Westside Meats and is open to the general public. Phone number is 609-886-2700.  They offer meats, deli specials, eggs, milk, hoagies and more.
  • A great family activity is to visit Stone Harbor.  Just minutes from Holly Shores it is a very cool town with shops, restaurants, and of course, a great beach.  They have a neat movie theater called Harbor Square Theatre with at least 6 or 7 different films offered.
  • All the weekly specials are listed for ShopRite including Pumpkin Pie this week!  A bit early but for $2.99 bring on Thanksgiving!

In the middle of the paper you will find a whole section entitled DO THE SHORE!  The notice this week is the upcoming Wildwood Restaurant Week August 26-30th.  Four course meals at some of Wildwood’s finest restaurants for only $30.00 plus tax and gratuity.  Visit Chewwildwood.com for all the details and the restaurants offering this delicious night out!!

In this section you will find family fun entertainment including miniature golf, water slides, community activities like the Cape May County Coast Guard Community Foundation Day At Morey’s Piers:  AUGUST 25th. 20% of all admissions will be donated back to support our Coast Guard Community.

The list goes on page after page!  Get yourself a copy right here at Holly Shores and start having your own Do Cape May and Do Wildwood Vacation!!

Enjoy!!
