Dave’s Travel Log

This past fall, Maggy and I, after 18 years, purchased our second camper.  Our first motor home was a Toyota Class C.  It was used and cost us $5,000.00.  It did not have A/C in the driver’s compartment and it had a manual transmission.  It was a blast!  We had more fun doing weekend trips in that little RV.  Believe me, it was small…. without all the conveniences of the new models being offered today; no oven, microwave, or large refrigerator.  It took us to the same destinations as those large motor homes that passed us on the road.  The same rivers, mountains, lakes, and oceans.

This year, after 18 years, we now have a larger motorhome.  It is a 24’ Thor Citation we purchased at Camping World.  Our son, Tommy, is the general manager so it was natural to get a new camper from his store.

We left Cape May and headed south in early December.  We spent the next relaxing unhurried days on the road instead of two grueling days in a car.  We stopped in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.  We got to see some great camping resorts and secured a treasure chest of great ideas to use at Holly Shores!

Now that we are in Florida for the winter, we continue to take multi-day trips in our Citation.  Each time we hit the road Maggy and I look at each other and say, “This is a blast!  Why did we wait soooo long?”

Since this is the day after the Super Bowl I would be remiss if I did not say, YAY Eagles!!!!
