Camping Resolutions For The New Year

Now that we are a few weeks into January, we know the new year is a time for renewal…refreshing…making resolutions. Of course there are the usual ones like “losing weight, exercising more, eating healthier, and stop smoking.” Here at Holly Shores we have a few different ones you might want to consider:

  • Star-gaze


  • Tell campfire stories
  • Play good “old-fashioned” board/card games
  • Explore a place you have never been before
  • Take lots of camping family photos
  • Toast more marshmallows


  • Eat three meals a day around the campfire
  • Take 3 deep breaths before trying to park the camper
  • Read more books
  • Spend less time looking at screens
  • Eat less processed food
  • Share a camping hack
  • Create a new campfire recipe
  • Start a leaf collection
  • Bird watch and learn to recognize a few local species


  • Take time to be present in the moment
  • Take a class – any class (then take another)
  • Look for opportunities to do random acts of kindness
  • Go hiking….then get a foot massage
  • Perfect the art of the S’mores Martini


  • And Of Course….Go Camping More!!!
